Greetings! A happiest of Thursday's to you all!
So I have way more to show you from the patterns in the Sew Fab bundle. WAY more!
Today is extra special though, because I'm also a part of the Sally Dress Tour, sharing my version of the latest pattern from Shannon of luvinthemommyhood!
Have you seen the beautiful Sally's flitting about the interwebs? Gorgeous.
I knew, living in New England, that I'd need to winterize the Sally Dress. But it was not hard! I chose a cool Fall/Winter color palette and heavier weight fabrics. It's perfect for layering with tights and cardigans and I LOVE IT.
This dress had me at hello square neck line. I adore the shape of this dress. It's not over-the-top girly, the HUGE pockets are an obvious win, and the pull-it-right-on design is just the kind of ease I look for in a finished garment. Add all that up and we've got a dress that Emmy and I both love.
I totally enjoyed sewing up the Sally Dress, too! It was quick and straightforward, but I also learned a few things along the way. Shannon's patterns have some of the best digital illustrations that I've come across. My visual brain really appreciates that!
Alterations to the pattern were minimal... I shortened the hem by an inch and lengthened the sleeves to the longest length. This is a size 3t, and for reference, Emmy is a tall, limby three and a half year old. I'm pretty sure I made it too short and it'll be a tunic next year, but hey, that's OK! Still love it.
The Sally Dress is a part of the Sew Fab bundle - a collection of 26 patterns for just $29.95. It's an incredible deal!

Did I mention the twirl factor?! If I did not, BEHOLD:
ADORABLE, the twirls!
My main fabric is a navy 'linen look' from Jo-Ann's from a long time ago! Like I said in a previous post - I am trying SO HARD to sew down my stash! I have (semi-feasible!) notions of turning my big ol' unused attic into a studio, so the buying of all the fabric is temporarily on hold. TEMPORARILY.
The pockets are a luscious velveteen from Anna Maria Horner. The bodice and pockets are lined with a chartreuse cotton. All from the stash - HIGH FIVES!
I LOVE the palette of this dress! I love how it all came together!
Thanks so much to Shannon for having me on the Sally Dress Tour! I love this dress, and so does Em! I will definitely be making another one for next Summer - I love the sleeveless versions I've been seeing.
Grab your pattern bundle today if you can! The Sew Fab sale ends in just a few short days, and you don't want to miss out on this ridiculous bargain! Remember, Kids Clothes Week is only a couple weeks away.
